Lost Horizon

My feet tread ground where God has bled,
my heart bares guilt unspoken,
a cross, a tree, to hang the dead,
the guiltless and the broken.

I carved my path and set my stride,
but you were not there by my side,
no matter how I searched and cried
unveil my lost horizon.

The passage of my innocents
was blocked before I reached the day.
After years of reaching out,
you've left me here and gone away.

You bore my guilt and took my blame,
but even now I bare my shame
forgetting why I speak your name,
unveil my lost horizon.

Collective thoughts and promises,
a broken view of who I am,
forget me if I turn not back,
I cannot recall from whence I came.

When you are not within my sight,
I cannot decipher wrong from right,
so search me out and shed some light,
unveil my lost horizon.
